Thought worth sharing…

And responding to.  Texas in Africa (participant in TBYPN and blogger extraodinaire) posed an excellent question about the death penalty on her blog.  She cites the story of Charles Chatman, freed after 26 years imprisoned in the state of Texas, once DNA testing showed that he had not in fact committed the rape which he was convicted of.  While not directly related to the death penalty, the point is that in our justice system, the wrong people are convicted much too frequently .  Read the blog, read the story, and feel free to answer her question, “Should we really be killing people when our criminal justice system is clearly failing many in this respect?”
