Young Adults and the Celebration of a New Baptist Covenant
I’ve heard some people say that the Celebration of a New Baptist Covenant will be sparsely attended by the “younger” generations- ie, those under 40. The Celebration is on a Wednesday through Friday, so this is not an unreasonable assumption. However, the assumption is wrong.
From TBYPN we have over 50 young adults traveling to the Celebration, and I know of at least that many traveling on their own to attend.
At these types of conferences, it can be hard to connect with other young adults. For some reason, we occasionally get lost in the sea of white hair.
The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship’s leadership group, Current, has intentionally set their retreat the day before to help these young adults connect. Young professionals are scrimping and sacrificing to be able to attend the historic gathering in Atlanta. Therefore, TBYPN is expanding our mission to connect young adults in Texas towards connecting all of the young adults at the Celebration, from all of the Baptist denominations attending.
Following the opening plenary session on Wednesday, January 30th, everyone under 40 is invited to attend our
Young Professionals Networking Event & Ice Cream Social
10 PM – Midnight
Cost is $10
Connect with fellow young Baptists from around the country, engage in discussion that will continue during the Celebration and back home, while enjoying hors d’oeurves, ice cream, and good company!
